Craig Breen and Paul Nagle have competed in all five rounds of the European Rally Championship aboard the Hyundai i20 R5. In addition, for the first time, the MRF Tires brand was betting on the continental competition, trusting the Irish driver for the development of its product.

Breen scored several scratch marks throughout the year, starting with fourth place in Rome. In Latvia, first of the year on land, he managed to be fifth. Later, Fafe and Hungary arrived, where fortune didn`t accompany. In Hungary, the i20 R5’s engine said enough when they ran seconds.

The last rallye was held this weekend in the Canary Islands, with very tough and changing conditions. The team made a mistake on day one tire mounting, saying goodbye to a good result right from the start. For Breen, the most important thing about this test was “tire development.”

This was his assessment of the Canarian event for the European Championship website: “It has been a challenging rally. It is difficult to find a wet, muddy and dry event, and the possibility of obtaining data becomes the most important aspect. We had some really good stages. I really enjoyed the Gáldar stage. It reminded me of the stages in Ireland, my favorite rally roads“.

Finally, the Irishman has collected his personal assessment of the year with MRF Tires: “This is the first time that MRF Tires competes at the highest level in Europe and the commitment and development of the product has been impressive. We should all be proud. very thankful”.
