Janne Tuohino, driver and manager of the JanPro Racing team, is back in a round of the World Rally Championship. The Finnish driver will start the Arctic Rally Finland, home rally for them, aboard the Ford Fiesta WRC that the team owns.

After his time as an official in 2017 and 2018 (especially with Teemu Suninen at the wheel), the number 6 chassis of the 2017 Ford Fiesta WRC arrived in the hands of the team in February 2019. Tuohino himself, together with Mikko Markkula, was in charge of “re-released” it at Rally Sweden the same year.

Janne Tuohino and Richard Millener in 2019.

Interestingly, this was the Finnish driver’s last official race to date. Tuohino, a former official Ford and Skoda driver in the World Rally Championship, will not miss this magnificent opportunity at his home rally. Even more so considering his unexpected punctuation for the WRC and the anticipated snow conditions.

Kimmo Kurkela was the last private competitor to rent the car. The last test, specifically, took place in the Arctic Lapland Rallye scoring for the Finnish championship, and held in January. The Finn managed to finish in seventh place.

The car is being checked for the rally at the JanPro team facility.

Tuohino was not the only surprise from the Finnish entry list. Lorenzo Bertelli, another private driver who has been inactive for two years, will put his helmet back on to enjoy his magnificent unit, the Ford Fiesta WRC (chassis 2).

Oliver Solberg, also a last minute novelty, and Pierre Louis Loubet will compete in a Hyundai i20 WRC of 2C Competition. Fans -from home- will enjoy many attractions among the top category cars entered.
