Nil Solans and Marc Martí have started the season with a great result. The Catalans were postulated as the “surprise” of the entry list in Rallye Tierras Altas Lorca, the first race of the CERT and S-CER of 2020. With a Skoda Fabia R5 from Calm Competició, the 2017 Junior World Champion came, saw and won.
The struggle with the current “Superchampionships” of Spain was vibrant until the last stage of the Murcian rally. Jan, Nil’s brother, along with his team, waited to check the result in the finish, really expectant. Finally, López and Rozada were 7.3 seconds away from the final victory. Great result for the first spanish rally in 2020 with Sports&you. It’s a long year away and the first race on the ground has been more than successful for them.
Having arrived from the Czech Republic, the runners-up of the WRC3 last season managed to climb to the third step of the podium. Great result for Erik Cais and Jindriska Casova in their first participation in Spain and their second with the Ford Fiesta R5 MKII. Xevi Pons, a five-time champion in Spain, with a similar saddle recently released, saw his performance cut in the morning after an electrical breakdown in the new Ford.
The two remaining places in the Top 5 were completed by Álex Villanueva and Xavier Amigo, in an adaptation recital during the day with the new Fabia R5 Evo. Gorka Eizmendi and Diego Sanjuán, also in a day of acclimatization (Fabia R5 and MRF Tyres) finished the rally in fifth place. Special mention to R2 leaders Pep Bassas and Alex Coronado. Eighth place overall and absolute winners of the category in the first round. Check out the full results:
