Gus Greensmith, 24-year-old M-Sport official English driver, has announced his new co-driver for the remaining rounds of the 2021 season. Chris Patterson will replace Elliott Edmondson in the Ford Fiesta WRC. Therefore, we are facing a new change of navigator. fourth specifically, after Neuville (Wydaeghe), Sordo (Rozada) and Suninen (Markkula).

Greensmith and Edmondson raced the entire 2015 season for the first time, with their participation in the Drive DMACK Cup. The English rejoined their paths in 2019, aboard the Ford Fiesta R5 and in the first competitor rallies with the unit of top category.

Chris Patterson, meanwhile, has many seasons of experience in the top flight. He has worked for drivers like Petter Solberg in his time with Citroën. Kris Meeke and Khalid Al-Qassimi, the latter until 2018, relied on his services on the WRC stages.

Greensmith’s words after the announcement, picked up by DirtFish: “Elliott and I have achieved great results in this time. I would like to thank you for all your work over the years. We will continue our careers separately, I wish you all the best for the future”.

Edmondson, an active co-driver of numerous championships since 2011, also has words of appreciation for his former driver: “This decision has been decided jointly. I would like to thank Gus, the Greensmith family and M-Sport for our time together”.

Greensmith and Patterson’s debut will not be long in coming, and will take place at Rally Croatia, the third round of the World Championship. They will have as teammates, for the first time, the young Adrien Fourmaux and Renaud Jamoul.
