Carlos Sainz has criticized the action of Nasser Al-Attiyah during the last Rally of Andalusia. The triple Dakar Rally winner made a completely unjustified shortcut (video here) in the last section of the event. A move that many have deemed unsportsmanlike and dangerous.

Sainz, second classified in the aforementioned race, has published a comunicate in which he detailed his discomfort with the action of his rival. Recall that the FIA penalty resulted in the loss of two minutes in the general classification for the competitor of the Toyota Hillux, which left the classification in a similar way.

In Sainz’s words: “The Andalusia Rally runs through farmlands, private plots and protected areas. Skipping the route is not only unsportsmanlike, but it puts future editions of this wonderful rally at risk and, worse, puts the public at risk and other competitors. These types of actions aren`t a good example for our sport. Hopefully it will not happen again”.

Now, Al-Attiyah hasn`t cut himself via social networks, responding in the following way to the Madrilenian: “Do you remember the cut you made inside the field in Baja Aragón 2017?”. This is the video in question, with Sainz driving the Peugeot 3008 DKR. You judge.
