Toyota Gazoo Racing has chosen Catalonia to test the evolutions in its Yaris WRC on gravel. Let’s remember that the World Rally Championship has held two rallies, and none of them have been on this surface. Monte-Carlo was on asphalt, while in Finland snow predominated.
The Japanese team test driver, Juho Hanninen, was in charge of adding the agreed kilometers on this day of testing on the Catalan surface. The person in charge of singing the notes in Finnish has been Miika Teiskonen, aboard the Japanese unit.
The objective of the tests was to test the new Pirelli on the ground. The next round of the World Championship will take place on asphalt (Croatia, April 22-24). Of course, the next stop, on Portuguese soil, will put the teams to the test on the gravel for the first time. It will be from May 20 to 23 if nothing prevents it.
