Teemu Suninen and Mikko Markkula will participate in Rally Croatia, the next round of the World Rally Championship, to be held on April 22, 23, 24 and 25. The event, on asphalt, third on the calendar, will bring together the best teams on the world scene.
One of the teams that will be present will be M-Sport Ford, which will debut the engine improvements in the Ford Fiesta WRC. Those in charge of piloting the machine will be Gus Greensmith and, as a novelty, the young Adrien Fourmaux, who will join the WRC in several rallies this year.
The other driver of the brand, Teemu Suninen, will also take the wheel. The brand has announced that the Finnish competitor will be present in the WRC2 category aboard a Ford Fiesta Rally2. Therefore, Fourmaux and the aforementioned Suninen will change their roles in this event.
Statement from Suninen: “I want to say a big thank you to the team for finding a way for me to compete at Rally Croatia,” said Suninen. “It’s an event that wasn’t on my calendar at the start of the year, and the more time we get behind the wheel the better”.
“The WRC2 Championship is really competitive at the moment, and I’m looking forward to the challenge. I’ve not driven one of those cars for a long time, but it will be a good experience – discovering these new stages, and also rediscovering a car without centre differential; so that I’m ready for any 2022 testing that might be needed in the coming months”.
