As announced a few weeks ago, the Arctic Rally Finland will will ban fans from its rally. The evolution of the pandemic has led to this decision, similar to the first rallyof the year in Monte Carlo.

Fans who are thinking of breaking the rules can get a major reprimand. The police have prepared an intense deployment to control this matter. Lapland agents and the forestry commission will deploy drones and snowmobiles to uphold the strict coronavirus procedures imposed at the event.

In Monte Carlo we could see how the majority of fans complied and stayed at home, except, of course, specific sectors of the public. These, as in most cases, were key to saving drivers like Pierre Louis Loubet from abandonment on the Power Stage.

Rally Director Kai Tarkiainen commented to DirtFish: “There are many virtual options to follow the rally, with coverage on television, radio and the Internet. By following the race from these channels, fans are doing their bit to ensure that the event runs safely and they also make sure that we can return to these forests when everything is back to normal”.

The Lapland Police Department has confirmed that it will redouble its efforts to keep fans away. If someone is thinking of using snowmobiles or similar to go to the stages, the police will not be short.
