Jari Mati Latvala has completed his first career as a Toyota Gazoo Racing team director in the World Rally Championship. The result obtained by his pilots and co-drivers has been practically perfect.
The Finn was really satisfied before the WRC + microphones moments after the arrival of Ogier and Ingrassia at the finish line: “This first rally was incredible. Getting four cars into the top six is very difficult, and it’s an immense result.”
“It is my first career as a boss at Toyota, but I have found an unbeatable team. It could not be better than where I am now, surrounded by so many good people, and very hard-working“. A few words that reflected the emotion behind the tension experienced on the Power Stage.
Latvala garnered several podiums in Monte Carlo during his time as a driver, in addition to the victories in the WRC: “Winning as a driver and as a team leader is amazing. We have fought, it is a very special moment for me and we will continue to work hard to continue”.
The great relationship between the team members was palpable with Ogier’s statements before starting the campaign: “There is no one who is more passionate about the world of rallying and its history (about Latvala). I am sure he will put all his energy in this new job”.
