Dani Sordo will compete with Carlos del Barrio in the next Monte-Carlo Rally in 2021. Their names appear on the official entry list of the Monegasque event, which this year celebrates its 110th edition. The Cantabrians will wear the number six in the doors of the Hyundai i20 Coupé WRC.
Despite the recent official announcement of Borja Rozada as Dani Sordo’s new co-driver, the short time available for adaptation has prevented the official debut from taking place in Monte-Carlo. Therefore, before a possible Arctic Lapland (to replace Sweden) and Croatia, the Cantabrian’s next test could take place in Portugal (it will depend on Hyundai’s line-ups with Craig Breen).
The Portuguese event, on land, is scheduled from May 20 to 23. Monte-Carlo, therefore, could witness the last World Rally Championship event of Carlos del Barrio and Dani Sordo, at least in the short term. Without a doubt, they will try to dismiss a great stage with a victory.
Del Barrio has already made his debut with his new team, with Fabrizio Zaldivar as the driver. The Cantabrian traveled to Paraguay on December 20 to compete in the Petrobras Rally Carmen del Paraná II. Both will be seen in WRC, ERC and single S-CER events in Spain throughout this year. They will start with a Hyundai i20 R5.
