The tyres say enough: Sordo and Rozada lose the lead in Portugal

Madness in the seventh special of the day, Mortágua, 18 kilometers long. The positions of the general classification have changed completely after various mishaps of the teams that were in the lead. Ott Tänak and Martin Järveoja are the new leaders of the rally.

Dani Sordo and Borja Rozada replicated tire problems in the previous special, and in this the omens were confirmed. In addition, the Cantabrian has stalled the car in one of the paellas of the section, losing several seconds. “The engine didn`t start and I have no tires, they are finished. I cannot push,” he said at the end of the special.

Thierry Neuville and Martjin Wydaeghe, second so far, have crashed the Hyundai i20 WRC on this stage, around kilometer 15 of the route. The Belgian lost control of the car in a fast left-hand corner, hitting a slope and causing damage to the car. You can see it here.
