Despite the advance of the pandemic, the different International Motor Racing Federations publish their calendars. Today is the turn of Portugal. If all goes well, they will hold a total of eight scoring rallyes for their National Rally Championship. As if that were not enough, two of them qualify for the WRC and ERC.

The Rali Terras D’Aboboreira, on gravel, will be in charge of opening the championship the last weekend of April. It should be noted that, in 2020, this rally closed the championship (in October). Many Spanish drivers, such as Juan Carlos Quintana, Daniel Alonso, Jose Luis Peláez or Juan Pablo Castro competed to prepare Madrid (Spain, gravel).

The second scoring event will be one of the most special of the year. The Vodafone Rally de Portugal returns with world and national scoring. If the pandemic allows it, it will be dispute from May 20 to 23. It will be the fourth round of the WRC, second also for National and JWRC.

Castelo Branco will be the third rallye in June, at the end of the month. This test will also score for the Suzuki Swift Cup, the Dacia Sandero and the Clio Trophy Spain. The Rally of Mortágua, in July, will be the halfway point of the championship.

Vinho da Madeira (August) and Alto Tamega (September) will be the fifth and sixth races, already fully established in the Portugal after its numerous editions. Támega will also pose a new challenge for the Suzuki Swift Cup participants, also of course in the Junior.

The Serras de Fafe Rally, also scoring for the European Rally Championship, at the end of September, and Vidreiro, in October, will put an end to a championship that promises strong emotions. Armindo Araújo, Bruno Magalhães and Ricardo Teodósio were the top three in 2020.
