Three penalty spots on the grid and one point on his license for hindering. That is the punishment that the sports commissioners have given Sebastian Vettel for his action yesterday in qualifying, with Fernando Alonso as the main affected in his qualifying lap in Q2.

“I saw Alonso through the mirrors and my team told me on the radio. I tried to get out of his line, but he couldn’t disappear. I don’t know what I should have done differently,” Vettel explained to the cameras after the action. What is true is that the cameras do not lie and, given the speed at that point, it was also dangerous. The Asturian will start fourteenth, while Vettel will start eleventh.
