It is not being, at all, the desired year for Ole-Christian Veiby and his environment in the purely sports aspect. The Norwegian started the season well, with a fifth place in WRC2 at the Arctic Rally Finland and a victory at the Rali Terras d’Aboboreira.

A few days later, with the arrival of the World Championship at Rally Portugal, things went wrong. Veiby did not inform the organization of his close contact with a positive for COVID, for which he was suspended for half a year. The Norwegian skipped protocol, and the penalty will keep him out of WRC2 for six months.

The Norwegian returned to participate in a rally on the occasion of the Rally Latvia, of the European Championship, held this weekend. After a good rally, but with various problems, he finished seventh in the general classification in the Hyundai i20 R5.

However, hours after the race, the FIA made official the disqualification of the team for irregularities in the rear wing of the Korean machine. His team made a series of modifications, both in size and position, to improve performance over the air, given the high speed of the stages. Something, of course, totally prohibited.
